We had a truly delicious Christmas meal at The Boathouse on Glencaple Quay and had to rave about it here, so you can experience a very special Christmas lunch or evening meal out too!
Little touches like the crackers, festive candles and lovely twinkly lights made the space specially festive and gently lured us into the spirit of the season.
We got off to a very good start, with the pumpkin, nutmeg and chickpea soup, served with crusty bread and butter
…and beetroot cured salmon crostini with bashed cucumber and radish salad. Totally tasty!
To follow there was a fabulous beetroot and butternut Wellington served with a rich (and delicious) vegan gravy and a wonderful fillet of hake with roast garlic butter [main picture above] and black Kale (we asked for no bacon, not a problem). Both came with roast potatoes, a mouth watering root vegetable bake and assortment of seasonal vegetables in sage butter.
Room for more?!
We managed to squeeze in a (gluten free, but you wouldn’t know!) stollen trifle and a delicious Christmas pudding cheesecake!
The ginger bread men came home with us, as did the feeling of having had a wonderful evening of wonderful food in wonderful surroundings at The Boathouse, Glencaple!

Aren’t we lucky to have this on our doorstep – really rather spoiled!
